what prompted me to write this?

well, you have to admit apple's walled garden approach is extremely toxic, as in, it only plays nice if you follow their rules.

i wrote this as a result of consistent bottled up frustration with their products.

my opinion on their mobile services

honestly i believe imessage for instance has no redeeming features over any other messaging app, other than being built in.

people use it only because its built in, and it would fade in obscurity if it were not.

another thing that bothers me is the illusion of free choice they give with third party browsers. no matter what, you use safari.

OK maggie, how about their computers?

i myself use my hackintosh fairly often, and there are no such limitations on third party apps and browsers. i dont really have an issue with that, arm still has a long way to prominence in the mainstream space and i have to recognize that apple pulled it off really well. time will tell

conclusion
